Ever wondered what to do with all that pumpkin that is scooped from your Halloween Lanterns? Well look no further as we have a super easy recipe for you to make some lovely home baked treats for your dogs. Pumpkin is really good for dogs digestion and helps with Wind issues!!
All you need are three ingredients and a bit of time and you will have a very happy dog. The recipe is American Cup measurements but I find as long as you keep the ratios correct it works really well.
1 Cup of Cooked and Pureed Pumpkin
2 Cups of Chickpea Flour
1 Egg to bind or you could use the water from canned chickpeas.
Boil the pumpkin until soft, Drain and cool then puree to a soft consistency.
Mix in the Chickpea flour and beaten egg or Chickpea liquid until it just binds together but is not too wet. Bring the dough together and roll out on a floured surface. cut into small squares and transfer to an oiled baking sheet.
Bake slowly at 140 degrees until the biscuits dry out and feel firm to touch and are golden brown. Cool on a cooling rack.
Store in a jar for up to a week.
Top tip * you could add a teaspoon of turmeric to the mix for extra medicinal purposes.
