Five tips for intentional living

Just taking a moment each day to do something that intentionally brings you joy can make all the difference to your life.

Being dog owners, its hard not to find something to smile about each day but here are a couple of tips to help focus your mind on seeing the good stuff and not letting life pass you by in a blur.

1. Savour your morning Coffee or Tea. Take time to make your favourite drink and then sit quietly without looking at your phone or tablet and just take in the birdsong or watch the sky. Just watching the world out of the window can start your day off in the right way.

 

2. Have a hot shower and use your favourite soap or shower gel and spend time deep conditioning your hair.  A little self care is essential for a happy mind. My friend made me a batch of Orange blossom fragranced soap for my birthday and it makes me smile everytime I use it. It makes me think of him and the care he took to make it for me and that makes me feel loved and special.

3. Go for a walk. Even if its just for 10 minutes. Walking releases happy hormones and will always make you feel good.

4. Write down 3 things you would like to achieve tomorrow. They don't have to be big things but it helps to focus the mind.

5.Treat yourself to something you like to eat. A few squares of your favourite chocolate or a slice of yummy cake. Savour and enjoy.

Most of these things are easily achievable each day, its just a case of noticing them and taking the time to intentionally do them, not just going through the motions.  Give it a try and let us know how you get on in the comments.
