The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed we now have a range of sustainably made clothing available for our customers.
This is made for us by Teemill's based on the Isle of Wight.
We wanted to use our whimsical designs by local artist Yve Grady Crewe on quality, practical apparel and when we heard about the ethics and ethos of Teemills we knew we wanted to work with them.
Why Teemills?
Firstly they are a fair trade company, making sure all their workforce are fairly paid and have excellent working conditions.
They use Organic Cotton to make their range, using no pesticides or fertilisers and limiting impact on the environment. It also makes a lovely extra soft cotton.
All Teemills factories are powered by Solar and Wind Power which makes them a carbon neutral business.
By Printing our products to order and fulfilling them directly from their factory, there is no waste from speculative production. We hold no wasteful stock.
The Printing process uses eco friendly dyes and they have a unique system that recycles the dye and turns the waste product into paint for road markings.
Lastly when you have finished using your clothing in many years time, you can return the item to Teemills by scanning the code on the care label and getting a freepost code, they will then recycle this item using the Remill system and turn it into more clothing and you get a store credit in return.
